I am a sociologist whose research interests include immigration, race, and ethnicity. My work focuses on racialization processes through the lens of contemporary African migration in the U.S. I earned my Ph.D. in Sociology from Columbia University and a B.A. from Pomona College. I am also committed to youth development, having worked with Leadership Enterprise for a Diverse America, Highbridge Voices, and City Year Chicago. Bronx, New York is my hometown.
